Bracknell Forest Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) has designed the Safeguarding Toolkit to support all partners working with children, young people or families in Bracknell Forest to:
- clearly and simply identify our shared responsibilities for safeguarding children and young people
- provide tools, or exemplars, to support all of us to meet these responsibilities
- ascertain compliance in meeting safeguarding standards for the organisations listed under Section 11 of the Children Act 2004
Bracknell Forest safeguarding tool
The following toolkit is for those who work in Bracknell Forest Council departments:
Voluntary and community sector
The LSCB recognises the significant role that the voluntary and community sector plays in improving and reforming services and therefore asks that they complete self assessments using either the LSCB tool above, or look to alternatives such as the one that has been developed by the NSPCC which replaced the former Safe Network self assessment tool (no longer operating) previously used by many organisations to assess their child protection and safeguarding arrangements. Local organisations unfamiliar with undertaking assessments of safeguarding standards are encouraged to seek advise from Involve.
