This course is for individuals that have a higher level of expertise; a fuller understanding of how to work together to identify and assess concerns and to plan, undertake and review interventions.
 
The learning objectives are to understand the stigma that can be attached to mental illness and what professionals can do to support; have an increased understanding of the link between parental mental health and child protection; be familiar with models of assessment and remain child focussed to help recognition and practical intervention.
 
  • Have an increased knowledge of some major mental illnesses
  • Views and values on how they impact on service users and ourselves
  • Have an increased understanding of the link between parental mental health and child protection
  • The impact of mental health issues on both adults and children
  • Look at the risk factors when undertaking a risk assessment
  • Safeguarding
